We know dentistry can be scary for kids (and adults, too!). You need a kids dental care team you can trust! Our staff, including Dr. Tyler Whiting who has been working in kids dental care for over 7 years, is fully committed to helping you and your child feel at ease and leave our office smiling. We provide plenty of distractions and tools for helping kids of all ages to relax — and we’re extra patient through every process. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Dr. Tyler Whiting, DMD

Hello, I’m Dr. Tyler Whiting, DMD (He/Him). I am thrilled to be the new dentist and owner of Pediatric Dental Associates, taking over for Dr. Drew. I am a board certified pediatric dentist and have been practicing for seven years. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment where every kid receives the quality care they deserve and maybe even has fun along the way!

My partner and I have four wonderful kids and two cute little doggies. We are originally from Arizona and love living in Eugene! One fun thing about me is that I have a large collection of fun socks!

I can’t wait to get to know all of my new patients and their families in the coming months!

Michael Purcell, D.D.S.

Dr. Mike has over 20 years of pediatric specialty experience with a primary focus on the needs of kids to put them at ease during their visit. He has a passion to ensure that oral health is available to anyone in need.

He earned his dental degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 1993 and was awarded the Quintessence Award for academic achievement and the Operative Award for excellence in practice teaching. After graduation, he practiced general dentistry for three years until he was accepted to a hospital-based pediatric dental program at the University Of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska in 1996. Dr. Mike’s academic studies have included oral management of bone marrow transplant patients, pediatric medicine, oral surgery, anesthesiology and he was a member of the cleft lip and palate team at Boys Town.

He has traveled with International Surgical Missions to both Ecuador and the Philippines to provide dental treatment in impoverished villages. He has also volunteered services for Colorado Mission of Mercy and Delta Dental’s “Give Kids a Smile Day.” for many years. Dr. Mike received two additional years of special training working with children, teenagers, and special needs patients.
